MegaPath Cloud Services, a division of the cloud communications company MegaPath, has announced several new features for its Unified Communications (News - Alert) (UC) service to enable better connections between MegaPath users and their customers, partners and colleagues. These three new features are indicative of the company’s newfound focus on the cloud and managed services segments.
MegaPath (News - Alert) UC is an optional add-on to the company’s Hosted Voice service, offering extensive IP voice telephony capabilities with a range of calling, collaboration and mobility features. The solution has garnered considerable success in North America over the past year as customers realize the immense benefits brought in terms of improving productivity and customer satisfaction while reducing costs. The recent announcement outlines three major features added to the MegaPath UC service.
SMS Text Messaging functionality lets users send SMS texts with their business VoIP phone number instead of having to rely on a personal number. Texts can be sent within the UC desktop and mobile clients, and full integration with a company directory ensures seamless communication across channels and devices. The result is a more unified appearance presented to customers and colleagues as well as improved efficiency within.
A new Device Handover feature lets MegaPath customers move calls from one device to another without needing to hang up first. In an era where employees are required to operate with flexible mobility and often must switch back and forth between desktop and mobile device clients, this solution provides a way to embrace the trend without sacrificing efficient phone call management.
MegaPath’s Voice Manager is now fully integrated into the company’s UC clients. Voice Manager lets Hosted Voice users access voicemail and transcribed voicemails as well as manage greetings, audio conferences, call routing, profile configurations and many other vital settings while maintaining mobility.
“These new service enhancements reflect MegaPath’s ongoing commitment to product innovation and further investment in our Voice and Unified Communications service offerings,” said Kurt Hoffman (News - Alert), President and Chief Executive of Cloud Services, MegaPath. “Features like SMS Texting and Device Handover give our UC customers even more freedom of mobility by offering additional ways to collaborate instantly and efficiently using their business VoIP number on any device.”
