According to an IDG enterprise report, 90 percent of CIOs in its survey plan to invest in unified communications (UC) and collaboration related investment; UC has become an essential tool in today’s business environment. The effort to adopt this technology is being driven by the benefits it offers, and 61 percent of the CIOs said it increased productivity, while 42 percent claimed it increased employee flexibility, both key features for the collaborative culture taking shape in organizations around the world. Service providers are introducing new solutions with features that will be essential for business communications as the technology continues to evolve. VOSS Solutions unveiled its latest version of the VOSS (News - Alert)-4-UC management platform to give industries across many different verticals specific tools to address their segment.
The VOSS UC management platform is designed for UC services and applications with a comprehensive toolset that allows its customers to create a communications architecture that can be designed, deployed and operated, in the public and private cloud. This type of flexibility and scalability makes it possible for enterprises to deploy solutions that can be accessed anywhere and anytime using any device to bring all their human resources together seamlessly.
The new VOSS-4-UC Industry Solutions Edition is able to create vertical industry “off the rack” solutions for the retail, finance, healthcare, education and other sectors. Some of the new features of the new release include:
- User profiles, pre-configured for an industry vertical and customized with the best applications and configuration settings to meet the user profile’s needs and improve their productivity.
- Industry features, pre-templated with the relevant GUI customization to expose these settings at the appropriate level.
- Third party UC systems, pre-integrated to ensure rapid rollout and user adoption.
- Use cases for each industry vertical, including end-to-end workflow/templates/GUI/wizard automation.
- IT systems integration within the organization, offering a framework, experience and resources to rapidly integrate to a customer’s IT systems, quickly and at low cost.
Additionally, the platform supports multiple vendor UC technologies, including Cisco (News - Alert) and Lync, while at the same time managing the interconnect between the vendors and multiple deployment models, whether it is in the cloud, on-premises, or a combination of both.
“Off the rack UC management solutions are the way the industry is heading, but as one size does not fit all, a certain level of customization is vital, and that’s what makes flexibility so important. We are delighted with the Industry Solutions Edition of VOSS-4-UC; it’s exactly what our customers are asking for,” said Bill Dellara, VP Product at VOSS.
According to Markets and Markets, the UC segment is forecasted to grow to $61.9 billion by 2018, and the enterprise collaboration market is also expected to rise from the $47.30 billion in 2014 to $70.61 billion by 2019. As enterprises look to optimize their communication solutions, they have to choose vendors that allow them to introduce accessible mechanisms that take into consideration the current business environment and the technology needed to thrive in it effectively. The VOSS-4-UC is designed to evolve with the business without the need for code change and upgrades if the requirements of the organization are different to the industry norm or change in the future; important features as new solutions get introduced in the market place.
