Riverbed Technology Unveils Riverbed SteelCentral UCExpert 5.0

Riverbed Technology, a provider of application performance infrastructure, announced today its new Riverbed SteelCentralTM UCExpert 5.0, a UC performance management solution with which one can realize proactive management for both Cisco and Avaya UC solutions, and seamlessly manage unified communications infrastructure.

Organizations are consuming a lot of resources to deploy enterprise unified communications platforms, while trying to ensure consistent quality pertaining to the end user experience. Conventional UC administration solutions are not often equipped with the necessary tools to ascertain the information required to analyze and sort out performance issues, whereas the new UCExpert is designed to overcome these limitations both by proactively managing UC solutions, and simplifying and reducing the time taken to implement unified communications.

With the latest version of SteelCentral UCExpert, users can make sure that deployments and migrations are carried forward systematically, while utilizing the remote hands functionality to bring down troubleshooting costs. It can also be used to automatically detect issues with voice quality, service availability, performance, security, capacity and other key performance metrics, and sort them out before they impact the users.

With users having complete visibility into their UC system activities, they can now enhance their capability to manage environments, which in turn reduces development and testing times.    

Riverbed added that SteelCentral UCExpert also supports the entire UC lifecycle for both Cisco and Avaya deployments, with automated testing using actual phones, configuration management and remote troubleshooting without end-user involvement.
