Comings & Goings: Antony Vigar Appointed Azzurri's Head of Business Development

Antony Vigar has re-joined Azzurri Communications (News - Alert), the leading independent provider of managed communications services, to become the Head of Business Development.

“I am delighted to be returning to Azzurri at this very exciting time as the company prepares to launch its cloud and managed services offerings later this year,” comments Antony. “Returning to Azzurri was a very easy decision for me, especially the chance to resume working with my former colleagues. I was impressed with the company’s commitment to developing a differentiated services proposition focused on delivering tangible outcomes and services, not simply technology to our customers and wanted to be a part of it.”

Vigar was sector head for media and hi-tech accounts at Vodafone (News - Alert) over a two-year period, prior to that he was at Azzurri for more than seven years, latterly as head of specialist solutions. Mr. Vigar was credited with playing an "instrumental role" in scoring some big contract wins including the AA, Saga and insurance group Hastings.

Vigar, who will replace prior incumbent Jason Elliott, will focus on supporting growth in both the company’s core enterprise communications customer base and its upcoming ICON cloud and managed services. He will report to Craig Wellman, Sales Director.

In a comment, Wellman said, “The telephony and UCC marketplace is increasingly moving towards hosted and cloud solutions as the most convenient option for delivering communications services. We needed someone who understood the enterprise communications landscape implicitly to help us drive our growth in these key areas. Antony’s experience in the service provider environment, combined with his extensive contact centre and IP communications background at Azzurri marked him out as a prime candidate for the role. We are thrilled to see Antony return to Azzurri.”
