Avnet Technology Receives Polycom RPSS Designation

Avnet Technology Solutions (News - Alert), the global IT solutions distribution player and an operating group of Avnet, Inc., has received the Polycom RealPresence Services Specialization (RPSS) designation and will now offer technical assistance center services.


The technical assistance center services are available to channel partners in the U.S. and Canada through Avnet Services.

Thanks to Avnet’s RPSS designation, partners will now be able to provide value-added technical assistance center services for their unified communications customers without needing to develop these capabilities in house.

The Avnet technical assistance center will provide Level 1 and Level 2 support from Avnet’s Polycom (News - Alert) Video Conferencing Engineers (PCVE) certified technicians.

“Technical support is a critical component of any unified communications customer engagement because the solutions are so broadly used throughout organizations,” said Scott Delaney, vice president of business development, Avnet Services, in a statement.

“A fully-staffed technical assistance center is a resource-intensive proposition for solution providers, which is why Avnet invested in creating a cost-effective alternative for our partners,” said Delaney.

He said that they can rely on Avnet Services to provide their customers with expert technical support, empowering solution providers to concentrate on further growing their businesses and sales.

“We are committed to providing our customers with technology that exceeds their expectations, and technical support can greatly enhance their experiences with the solutions we’ve implemented,” said Alicia Heaton, director for software sales at Meridian IT Inc., a technology solutions provider and Avnet partner.

Heaton said that Avnet’s scale, scope and technical expertise make it an ideal resource to provide technical assistance center services.

“We know Avnet has the process-oriented approach that will ensure support issues are resolved quickly and efficiently,” he said.

Thomas Kelley, vice president of global distribution, Polycom said that since joining forces last year, Avnet quickly recruited and developed a highly-specialized solution provider community that is helping to expand quickly in high-growth vertical markets.

Polycom is a global player in open, standards-based unified communication and collaboration.

Kelley said that solution providers can rest assured that Avnet’s services have exceeded Polycom’s criteria specifically designed to create complete unified communications solutions.
