Unified Communications Week in Review
Recapping the headlines this week in unified communications, the UC market showed a dip in the first half of 2013 despite its rising popularity. According to the report, worldwide revenue for enterprise PBXs fell by 9 percent in the second quarter as compared to the same period in 2012, reaching $1.81 billion.
“Slower demand and competitive pricing pressure delivered a one-two punch to the enterprise PBX market in the first half of 2013,” said Diane Myers, principal analyst for VoIP, UC and IMS at Infonetics Research, the report noted. “The slight recovery we saw late in 2012 hasn’t extended into the current year. Telephony spending remains stagnant as businesses rely on existing solutions.”
