ShoreTel Releases New Mobility 7 Software

ShoreTel (News - Alert) Inc., a premier provider of simple unified communications platforms including business phone systems, applications and mobile UC solutions, recently released its latest ShoreTel Mobility 7 software. Officials said that the new release enhances unified communication capabilities of iOS and Android (News - Alert) mobile devices.


The solution boasts of a completely redesigned user interface and allows users to transform their iOS tablet or smart phone into a desk phone with the use of the ShoreTel Dock.

ShoreTel Mobility 7 software features simplified integration that is geared towards improving the productivity of iPhone (News - Alert), iPad and Android device users.

 “With our latest software release, resellers can deliver a fantastic and intuitive experience for end users and IT administrators alike,” said David Petts, senior vice-president of worldwide sales at ShoreTel. “Customers are able to integrate leading smart phones and tablets securely, simply and cost effectively into existing enterprise communication applications and infrastructures to provide greater flexibility and increased productivity.”

The Today screen feature of the software is capable of integrating with the native calendar of Android and iOS platforms while the ShoreTel mobility client automatically displays conference calls on the mobile user’s calendar. This further allows one-click access to Web and audio conference.

The “join” feature allows a user to make the phone automatically dial a specific pre-determined conference call number and enter the conference call participation code. Mobility 7 can also integrate with ShoreTel Conferencing, which helps a user to switch to a presentation that provides both audio and visual participation capabilities. Additionally, the personal dial feature helps non-business calls to be placed with the user’s cellular caller ID.

Recently, TMC (News - Alert) reported that ShoreTel has developed a hybrid UC solution that allows customers with on-premises UC environments to access UC applications via the cloud on a monthly basis.
