Arrow Electronics is a supply channel partner for more than 100,000 original equipment manufacturers, contract manufacturers and commercial customers in 55 countries at more than 470 locations. It provides enterprise computing solutions, as well as products and services to industrial and commercial uses of electronic components. It gives telecommunications, information systems, transportation, medical and other markets technology solutions to improve their efficiency and value to customers and suppliers.

The company is broadening its reach of its ArrowSphere cloud service brokerage and cloud aggregation platform by extending services to the North American market. Following the successful rollout of the same platform in United Kingdom, Denmark, France, Germany and Spain the company is putting the same initiative in the United States and Canada.

The ArrowSphere cloud services gives businesses the solution they need for successfully building a storefront, marketing and sales along with several enablement services with support partners to manage transitions to the cloud. With a forecasted growth of 26 percent of compound annual growth rate to $100 billion in three years from the $40 billion of 2012, the worldwide spending on public IT cloud servicers is opening many opportunities globally.

Arrow connects customers to the technology they need with the right price points by providing specialized services and expertise across the product lifecycle. The European market has been making gains in the migration towards cloud and managed services, and the company is hoping the same gains will be made in the North American market. The platform gives organizations a number of cloud services including storage, servers on-demand, security, unified communications along with centralized billing and provisioning.

"The platform leverages Jamcracker (News - Alert) technology for the aggregation, provisioning and billing engine, and we've driven the build out of a lot of our integration with a number of different service providers, leveraging IBM (News - Alert) Cast Iron. In addition to the platform, we've focused on some of the lessons-learned in order to create an overall ecosystem that extends what we do as a value-added distributor. This allows us to bring a catalog of cloud offerings to market, and allows the partner to brand it themselves," said vice president of services for Arrow’s enterprise computing solutions business in North America, Jim Livingston.

The deployment of this platform also gives customers tools to improve their knowledgebase by providing online training modules, workshops, and dialogues among teams. This includes assistance in understanding and correctly assessing the impact of implementing different policies in key areas of business.
