Infradapt Helps Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE)
Communications and network infrastructure solutions provider Infradapt has been selected to provide Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) system to Philadelphia-based Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE).
FIRE turned to Infradapt to replace its aging Private Branch Exchange (PBX) platform that relied on copper line for communications. As the Foundation grew, it realized that having a powerful communications infrastructure is integral to support its growth.
Infradapt communications infrastructure provides FIRE with a unified communications (UC) infrastructure that is capable of supporting its staff of 18 and a host of remote users.
Sean Clark, vice president of Operations, FIRE, said Infradapt offered them a viable solution that allows the organization to easily manage their product, as they do not have dedicated in-house IT support staff. Additionally FIRE found that Infradapt’s service is more affordable. The service was also more responsive compared to similar offerings from other communications infrastructure providers.
Infradapt’s hosting infrastructure also includes secure cloud facilities with redundant power providers, backup diesel generators, HVAC controlled atmosphere, and redundant and high volume bandwidth, rather than relying on a local appliance and Internet connectivity.
For this infrastructure upgrade, Infradapt turned to Digium Switchvox, a business communications software platform based on Asterisk software.
Digium, the innovator behind Asterisk communications software, offers Switchvox IP PBX software to power a broad family of communications products for small, medium and large businesses. With Switchvox, businesses can easily switch from simple telephony to a feature-rich solution.
Recently Digium announced Switchvox is available via cloud. Switchvox Cloud is a hosted business telephony service designed as an alternative to purchasing an on-premises telephone system. Businesses simply subscribe for a monthly service fee to access telephone features and unified communications (UC) applications without having to deploy or maintain any system equipment on-site.
Businesses can migrate between Switchvox Cloud and Switchvox Premises SMB effortlessly because they both use Digium technology, the company said.
