Toshiba (News - Alert) America information Systems Inc.’s Telecommunications Systems Division has finally made its popular Call Manager Mobile application available through various app stores. The manager is now available in the Apple App Store, the Apple iTunes store, and the Android (News - Alert) Market.

The Call Manager Mobile app is a unified communications client application that was designed to integrate all business users’ communications for Toshiba customers, specifically, VIPedge customers (which is Toshiba’s cloud-based communications platform). By taking advantage of the new app, users can gain access to company contacts, a fully integrated instant messaging system, availability status of co-workers, group instant messaging service, and more.

The program also provides users with the ability to take advantage of their own cell phone with follow me, a single number reach service, and extension dialing. The app has a nice blue interface with easy to use buttons.

Once a user logs in, they will see the top of the phone now displays “Call Manager Mobile.” The page has changed to a set of blue colors with contacts and corporate numbers all organized and available like an instant messaging service. The top three buttons show users how to make calls, send messages, and even check their history. This application keeps employees informed of all communication activities, even if they are not at their desks.

"Toshiba has designed its Call Manager Mobile for today's BYOD world," said Brian Metherell (News - Alert), vice president and general manager of Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division. "At Toshiba, we empower our customers to communicate where, when, how and with whom they want on the mobile devices of their choice."

The app was built using HTML5 and now brings together both iPhone (News - Alert) and Android users with its latest mobile release. To download the application for free, users can just log in to iTunes or the Android market. Remember, all users must have access to the VIPedge cloud-based solution to use the newly debuted service.
