Siemens Canada signs agreement with Electromega

Siemens (News - Alert) Canada recently announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with Electromega Ltd., a Quebec-based Canadian leader in the sale and distribution of specialized products and solutions, for its traffic technologies.


According to the terms of the agreement, Siemens traffic technologies, including advanced traffic management systems, traffic controllers, adaptive traffic control and wireless travel time measurement systems, will be more widely available to customers in Eastern Canada through Electromega. Siemens traffic technology is implemented in major metropolitan areas, including Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.

The deal allows Siemens to offer a broad portfolio of solutions to our customers in Eastern Canada,” said Patrick O'Neill, VP Mobility and Logistics Division, Siemens Canada Limited. Recently, Siemens Enterprise Communications (News - Alert) announced that it will launch OpenScape Business, a next-generation Unified Communications (News - Alert) platform that offers benefits of UC to SMBs, regardless of their telephony infrastructure. Previously, Siemens offered the HiPath 3000 and OpenScape Office products. 

With OpenScape Business, the company has combined the best of both product lines into one that is scalable and provides UC functionality embedded in the appliance, regardless of telephony infrastructure, according to Susan Ericke, senior marketing manager at Siemens Enterprise (News - Alert) Communications. OpenScape Business, available in June 2013, offers voice, UC, Web collaboration, mobility and seamless integration into office applications in a unique all-in-one solution for single and multisite SMBs.
