Frost & Sullivan Report on Popularity of UCC Solutions in Mexico

Frost & Sullivan published a new analysis report which highlights the popularity of UC and collaboration, or UCC, solutions among enterprises in Mexico.


Francisco Rizzo, Frost & Sullivan research analyst, said, “Employees demand communication and collaboration tools that are similar to or better than what they are familiar with outside work. With the proliferation of smartphones and tablets, mobile UC applications that enable enterprises to meet employee needs are fast becoming popular.”

Increase in sales of Internet protocol (IP) telephony, IP phone, and videoconferencing solutions will strengthen these markets. Further impetus will be due to awareness of the benefits of UCC among large enterprises besides efforts made by suppliers to expand their channel-partner base.

Also, the fast improvement of communication infrastructure in the country will increase the demand for these UCC solutions, said analysts.

The Frost & Sullivan report titled “Reality Check on Key Mexican Unified Communications and Collaboration Solutions Markets” revealed that the market in Mexico earned revenue of over $272.3 million in 2011, which is estimated to reach $478.2 million in 2018.

Most companies in Mexico, which were using old legacy systems, have migrated to IP-based environments. The UCC market will develop as these applications work best within IP domains.

Cloud-based UCC solutions are popular with small and medium businesses as on-premises deployment of such solutions are cost prohibitive. However, analysts believe that cloud offerings will not affect on-premises sales as they complement each other and are profitable.

By educating small and medium business about the advantages of using UCC solutions and by educating channel partners on how to communicate the benefits of these solutions to SMBs, more opportunities, revenue and market expansion can be expected.

“To remain competitive, participants must look for new sales opportunities and develop strategies to cater to the needs of the untapped SMB market in particular. It is essential to build UCC systems that also offer cloud-based solutions,” Rizzo added.
