December 17, 2012

BroadSoft Inc., a provider of software and services that enable mobile, fixed-line and cable service providers to offer Unified Communications (News - Alert) over their Internet Protocol network, recently won TMC’s 2012 INTERNET TELEPHONY Product of the Year Award for its Business Communicator solution.

"The proliferation of tablets and smartphones unlocks new communications options for consumers and enterprise users, but also creates a singular challenge for service providers – how to make mobile UC services available on a single interface that spans all of a user's mobile devices and platforms," said Leslie Ferry, vice president marketing, BroadSoft (News - Alert). "BroadTouch Business Communicator was launched to address this critical challenge, and we are honored that INTERNET TELEPHONY has recognized our product for its innovation and potential impact on the market."

BroadTouch Business Communicator provides end-users with a unified communications experience across mainstream mobile and desktop platforms including Windows, Mac, iOS and Android (News - Alert).

Seamlessly integrating with BroadWorks and BroadCloud - Business Communicator completes the overall BroadSoft UC solution by allowing operators to easily deploy a single application to access voice, video, instant messaging and presence applications.

Operators will appreciate how easy it is to deploy Business Communicator by leveraging server side provisioning and licensing on BroadWorks.

"It is with pleasure that we recognize BroadSoft with a Product of the Year Award. The editors of INTERNET TELEPHONY have verified that BroadTouch Business Communicator displays quality and innovation while providing solutions to real business communications challenges," stated Rich Tehrani, CEO at TMC (News - Alert). "I would like to congratulate the team at BroadSoft for their commitment to advancing IP communication technologies."

This year, BroadSoft signed a new partnership with Acme Packet. The relationship with Acme Packet (News - Alert) involves the pairing and interoperability of the two companies’ technologies to create what’s called IMS Xpress. The combined solution leverages Acme Packet’s Net-Net SIP Multimedia-Xpress solution and BroadSoft’s BroadWorks communications application solution.

It offers carriers lower cost and less complex IMS capabilities that are at the same time easily scalable.
