August 02, 2012

Octasic’s Vocallo Media Gateway (MGW) multi-core DSP platform has been selected by Hitachi for use in its hybrid IP-PBX NETTOWER CX-01, targeted primarily at medium-sized enterprises.

Through the IP-PBX NETTOWER CX-01, Hitachi can deploy clients the choice to effortlessly combine both corporate data networks and TDM voice networks.

The IP-PBX, found on the NETTOWER CX-01, meets all current enterprise requirements in reliability and scalability, and has a flexible architecture, enhanced via future software upgrades.

Another advantage is its support for Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) and smartphones, which simplifies the tasks of mobile phone users. For additional functionality, Hitachi has integrated Octasic's multi-core processor into NETTOWER CX-01 for voice media processing in VoIP.

For enhanced user experience, it also features echo cancellation and voice quality enhancement technology.

The Vocallo MGW software package features voice processing with support for a diverse range of wideband codecs such as AMR-WB (G.722.2), G.722, G.722.1, G.729.1 and SILK. It also supports most of the popular codecs including H.263, MPEG-4, and H.264 and one can also add video conferencing capabilities through software updates.

"Octasic’s Vocallo MGW platform provides both the highest voice quality and video capabilities within a single DSP,” said James Awad, director of Marketing at Octasic.  “We are happy that Hitachi has chosen Vocallo MGW for our state-of-the-art algorithms. This again proves that we offer the most flexible solutions on the market. We continue to be the vendor of choice for enterprise PBX developers."
