Belgacom Introduces Unified Communications-as-a-Service via Cloud
Belgacom, the largest telecommunications company in Belgium, has announced the launch of its own Unified Communications-as-a-Service (UCaaS). The new service unifies and integrates communication tools via the cloud for Belgacom’s professional customers.
With the new UCaaS, companies no longer have to invest in the necessary infrastructure to host a UC solution.
The Unified Communication-as-a-Service (UCaaS) moves all the existing unified communication functionalities to the cloud. Belgacom is taking care of all components of the solution from the cloud platform of Belgacom to the connectivity. This makes the solution unique on the market.
With deployment of UcaaS, customers don’t have to worry about the management nor the quality of the service.
UCaaS moves all the existing unified communication functionalities to the cloud, ensuring the perfect balance between supply and demand as capacity needs change. As the solution is cloud-based, it becomes easier to absorb activity peaks. The cloud makes it possible for the latest technologies to be available anytime, anywhere. This includes the Single Number Reach feature, which allows a company to give a unique identity to its users so they’re accessible wherever they go and on any device.
With UCaaS, cost structure becomes more transparent as the companies pay a fixed amount per user each month. Belgacom has already declared four predefined user profiles, based on which the company can compose different functional packs based on the concrete needs of different user profiles.
The company can easily add or remove user profiles according to staffing changes.
Belgacom will also offer additional services in the future, such as end-to-end SLAs and detailed usage reports. The company also ensures high service availability. The entire infrastructure is redundant and completely secure as it is located in the Belgacom data center.
Belgacom was recently in the news when Alcatel-Lucent announced it will replace Belgacom Directory Information Service (DIS). The service was limited to assisting with phone number enquiries with a software solution that will provide new features along with cost-effective means of supplying the service.
