Aastra Takes Business Communications to a New Level with Aastra BluStar client

Aastra is announcing the launch of Aastra BluStar client at Enterprise Connect, taking place in Orlando, FL, from March 26-29. With the expansion of Aastra’s BluStar portfolio, employees will be able to use the most appropriate communications tool for their environment such as instant messaging, video or voice, whether at their desk or on the move. At Enterprise Connect, Aastra is now declaring the availability of the BluStar client for laptops and computers, with the iPad and iPhone client available in Q2 2012.

By introducing the BluStar client, Aastra is taking its collaboration offering a step further, making it accessible anywhere and on any type of device. The new BluStar ecosystem offers a comprehensive, end-to-end UC solution to businesses. The offering also provides a totally natural collaboration experience and fully holds trends such as BYOD (Bring Your Own Device).

BluStar can be used as a standalone product with its Application Server or incorporated with Aastra enterprise call managers such as the Aastra MX-ONE and Aastra 5000. It could be also collaborated with Aastra’s offering for the SMB market giving new customers the advantage of a highly competitive call manager combined with a wider multimedia offering from a single vendor. The Aastra BluStar client also integrates with third party solutions such as Microsoft Office Communicator/Lync or IBM Sametime.

Aastra introduced the first BluStar product, the Aastra BluStar 8000i desktop media phone, at Enterprise Connect last year. Since then the BluStar media phone has become popular among users. Due to its capability to combine true HD video conferencing quality with unified communications and business features, Aastra BluStar 8000i desktop media phone is honored with numerous awards in the US, Europe and Asia.

In a press release, Simon Beebe, vice president of Product Line Management at Aastra explained, “A fundamental tenant for Aastra is to give customers choice. Businesses can enjoy better flexibility with a choice of devices and deployment modes. The BluStar ecosystem is simple to deploy and manage with an Aastra call manager, creating a fully integrated environment for high definition voice, video and other collaboration tools. Through the BluStar ecosystem, Aastra is offering businesses of all sizes a comprehensive solution for UC and collaboration.”

Aastra was recently in the news when it welcomed Soft-Ex, a provider of web-based telecom data intelligence and enterprise communications management solutions, to its Approval Partner Program (A2P2). Aastra officially welcomed Soft-Ex as a qualified member after stringent testing.
