Avistar Recognized with 2011 Unified Communications Product of the Year Award
Avistar Communications Corporation, a provider of unified visual communications solutions, recently announced that it has been recognized with 2011 Unified Communications Product of the Year Award by TMC.
TMC recognized Avistar for its C3 Integrator that enables the Avistar C3 platform endpoints such as the Avistar C3 Communicator solution, and the Avistar C3 Unified for Microsoft OCS, Lync and IBM Lotus Sametime solutions to run optimally within the Citrix environment.
The solution enables all Avistar videoconferencing functionality to be delivered using Citrix XenDesktop and Citrix XenApp. This solution keeps bandwidth consumption in check while providing a feature-rich desktop videoconferencing experience to the end user.
The C3 Integrator enables rich videoconferencing to run optimally and at lower cost on virtual desktops across LANs and WANs. Users can experience immersive high-definition desktop video communication on the smallest of thin terminals, without degrading network performance or server scalability.
“Avistar is committed to delivering reliable, scalable and secure desktop videoconferencing solutions to its enterprise clients and technology partners,” said Stephen Epstein, CMO of Avistar, in a statement. “As the UC and VDI sectors converged, Avistar clearly recognized the technical challenges and successfully developed and deployed the industry’s leading suite of virtual visual communications solutions to enterprises globally. TMC’s 2011 Unified Communications Product of the Year Award recognizes and validates our contribution to the unified communications industry, and we appreciate the accolade.”
In related news, the company recently expanded its conferencing and collaboration solution, Avistar C3 Conference, with cloud-ready, HD-quality, multiparty videoconferencing at a fraction of the cost of similarly sized hardware-based multipoint control units (MCU).
Avistar C3 Conference now includes critical multiparty videoconferencing features such as transcoding and transrating for each participant in every conference. The service can be deployed on premise or via the cloud. Avistar C3 dramatically lowers the cost of multiparty videoconferencing on the desktop, across conference room solutions and out to leading unified communications solutions.
