LG-Ericsson (News - Alert) USA reportedly expanded its iPECS ES-3000 switch family with the introduction of four new products. According to its maker, the switches are specially designed to support today’s unified communications applications.

The newly introduced 1U-high ES-3000 switches are 802.3az-compliant and good for the environment, the company claimed in a press release. The new additions include ES-3050, ES-3050P ES-3052G and ES-3052GP switches.

Benefits of the new products include ease of installation, enterprise-class Layer 2 switching with Ethernet and fast Ethernet and Gigabit connectivity. These fully-managed L2 switches have been designed to provide flexibility, security, ease of management and eco-consciousness to meet the needs of today’s high-performance network environments, LG claimed in the release.

In addition of a power-saving green Ethernet design, the new switches also incorporate simple and intuitive configuration and management features via the unique LG-Ericsson Unified Device Manager (UDM).

All the switches connect easily to any network. According to the company, all four switches have been designed to support advanced QoS and security for safety and efficiency. As such, the switches are able to support unified communications applications that stress the network with data communication, VoIP and video.

The priority marking feature ensures effective traffic management in the most demanding mixed (voice/data/video) environments, while 802.1x/RADIUS/TACACS+ authentication, encryption, guest VLAN and more keep it secure.

The switches can transmit and receive traffic seamlessly in full-duplex mode and at non-blocking wire speed performance. Each port provides up to 2Gbps of bandwidth for transmitting and receiving packets in full-duplex mode, and supports auto uplink, making the switches easy to put to work to expand or upgrade a network, LG explained in a press release.

“These newest ES-3000 switches take port-density, flexibility, function and economy a step further. Scaled for all kinds of demanding applications, these switches are ideal for today’s do-it-all, mission-critical Unified Communications (News - Alert) applications. And, in these new Gigabit ES-3052G and 3052GP switches, we’ve continued to advance our commitment to Green technology, taking them to the next level with 802.3az energy efficiency,”  LG-Ericsson USA’s director of product marketing Iain Kenney (News - Alert) noted in a statement.

In the release, the company stated that the ES-3050, ES-3050P ES-3052G and ES-3052GP switches are available now through LG-Ericsson USA’s expert partners and resellers. The products are also backed by LG-Ericsson USA’s lifetime warranty and the company’s expert, US headquarters-based technical support.

Last month, LG-Ericsson launched the LG-Ericsson iPECS-MG Business-Enabled Communications System. The new solution added to the company’s line of comprehensive business communications solutions to support the broad-spectrum voice, video and data communications management needs of today's dynamic business.
