The Year Ahead - with Clarus Systems Inc.'s Gurmeet S. Lamba

TMCnet recently asked some of the leading lights in the industry for their thoughts about 2011 and what’s in store for the year ahead.

Here’s what Gurmeet S. Lamba, senior vice president of Product Development at Clarus Systems (News - Alert), had to say.

What was your company’s greatest achievement in 2011?

Lamba: Clarus Systems software started testing and monitoring VoIP and UC systems in some of the largest Cisco (News - Alert) deployments in the world. Some 2011 achievements we are proud of include support of Cisco Telepresence and Cius tablets.

What are your business’s goals for 2012?

Lamba: Our primary goal continues to be ensuring IP telephony and unified communications deployments function impeccably with the highest possible service availability and performance. We aim to assist with our proven technology and services across a broader set of communications platforms and devices, including tablets and other mobile devices in the enterprise. 

How would you describe your outlook for business and the economy at large heading into 2012?

Lamba: The scale of unified communications deployments continues to rapidly expand.  Add to that, the introduction of tablets, cloud communications, social collaboration and lots of video traffic.  Businesses are depending on reliable communications infrastructure and endpoints like never before. All these factors lead to the need for holistic automated testing and monitoring solutions –  hence the bullish outlook by Clarus Systems for 2012.

If there’s one thing you’d like to see happen related to business in the year ahead, what is that one thing?

Lamba: A return to robust growth in the U.S. and global economies driving demand for unified communications, mobility and related infrastructure

If 2011 was the year of cloud and/or the year of the tablet, 2012 will be the year of ...

Lamba: making it all work together  for the enterprise – reliable communications and collaboration  irrespective of underlying infrastructure or end user device!
