ClearOne Launches First UC USB Headsets for Personal Conferencing

January 06, 2012

Unified Communications offerings are being adopted at a rapid rate by enterprises worldwide to enhance their overall telecommunications experience. At the same time, new UC products are emerging for small and medium businesses and household consumers as well, allowing them to leverage the benefits of these state of the art solutions.

ClearOne, a provider of audio and video solutions for conferencing, collaboration and multimedia streaming, has launched its first Unified Communications headsets as a step toward expanding its popular line of UC products. The company develops and markets a wide range of enhanced audio conferencing products under personal, tabletop, premium and professional categories and claims to have around 50 percent of the global market share within the professional audio conferencing arena.

With the launch of five new models of new UC headsets, ClearOne has emphasized its intentions to cater to the new UC products market in a preferred manner, and has kept varying price and performance needs of enterprises, call centers and SOHO locations in mind while designing them. The new headsets will be sold under ClearOne’s CHAT brand and will deliver enhanced hands-free audio for personal conferencing relatively low costs to users.

“The addition of the CHAT headsets into our expanding UC product line now makes ClearOne the only manufacturer offering a complete suite of hands-free audio solutions from the open-office or cubicle environment to the executive office, boardroom or auditorium,” said Bala Krishnamoorthy, Director, Product Line Management for UC and Telephony. “The CHAT headsets round out our UC product portfolio which already includes the award-winning CHAT speakerphones, the INTERACT-AT installed audio systems and the COLLABORATE all-in-one video conferencing and collaboration system.”

All the CHAT headset models from ClearOne are powered by advanced audio technology with noise cancellation and acoustic shock protection, which reduces volume spikes and high-pitched tones. Components of ClearOne’s HDConference audio technology have been leveraged within these headsets that don’t need any additional software or drivers for installation. Featuring an attractive design, the headset devices by ClearOne are equipped with in-line controller and support a range of well known UC applications and softphones provided by a number of companies such as Avaya, Cisco, IBM, Microsoft and Skype.

In October 2011, ClearOne revealed that several of its unified communications and professional conferencing solutions are now in compliance with key IP telephony solutions from Avaya Inc., a provider of business collaboration systems, software and services. ClearOne is a Gold member of the Avaya DevConnect program, which allows it to develop, market and sell innovative products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of its investment in its network.
