Ruckus Wireless and ShoreTel Launch Mobile Unified Communications Starter Kit

The rapidly converging world of advanced telecommunications offers manifold gains to enterprises. While they can integrate solutions based on various interconnecting technologies to fulfill their diverse telecom needs, at the same time, they can benefit from the reduction in effective cost as they don’t have to pay for the expensive legacy solutions.

Ruckus Wireless, a provider of advanced wireless systems for the mobile networking market has announced that in collaboration with ShoreTel, a company that offers enhanced Unified Communication solutions based on its internet protocol business phone system, it is going to launch a new Mobile Unified Communications Starter Kit. The new offering will integrate Wi-Fi with Voice over IP technology, and has been developed to suit the needs of the small and medium-sized business enterprises.

The new solution has been verified within the ShoreTel Innovation Network, which proves for itself that the new Ruckus ZoneFlex Smart Wireless LAN solution offers cross-interoperability for both the platforms. Additionally, Ruckus and ShorteTel have also introduced a number of low cost product bundles for mid-size enterprises looking to test mobile unified communications over Wi-Fi.

Providing advanced UC and wireless networking capabilities in an integrated and compact package, the ShoreTel/Ruckus bundle allows enterprises to fulfill their corporate voice and data requirements at lower costs. Additionally, users can deploy the Ruckus ZoneFlex Smart Wi-Fi system to use their previous enterprise IP voice system through smartphones, tablets and Voice over Wi-Fi phones to enjoy excellent voice quality.

“With the growth of mobile devices and consumerization of IT, there is now huge demand by enterprises for the use of diverse smartphones using advanced Wi-Fi and VoIP technology,” commented Denis Maynard , vice president of worldwide sales for Ruckus Wireless. “ShoreTel and Ruckus now give organizations a complete turnkey system that takes advantage of the best VoIP and Wi-Fi technologies to easily and securely integrate employee smartphones into their existing network framework.”

Growing number of corporate houses have been switching from wired networks to mobile networks, as a result of which desk phones are being replaced with smartphones and PCs are being exchanged for tablet devices. It makes it necessary for the companies to upgrade their Wi-Fi capability so that the growing data need can be matched up with. Leveraging an integration of ShoreTel Mobility and Ruckus Smart Wi-Fi solutions, enterprises can address the new challenges.

In October 2011, Ingram Micro Inc. and ShoreTel Inc. entered into a new U.S. distribution relationship that includes the full portfolio of ShoreTel unified communications or ‘UC’ products and tools, including the latest version of ShoreTel Mobility, a smartphone integration solution that simply and intelligently integrates smartphones and tablets with most major virtual PBX systems and UC systems.
