Circonus Unveils New Features for its Unified Monitoring Solution

December 09, 2011

As a provider of enhanced visibility and comprehensive, real-time data collection and analysis, Circonus recently unveiled a new functionality in its dual SaaS/Private-SaaS Circonus Unified Monitoring solution.

Providing users with greater value as they tackle their monitoring needs, three new enhancements in the Circonus Unified Monitoring solution are designed to make it even simpler, faster and more flexible than before. Allowing users to easily replicate sets of bundles across multiple hosts, these features include: Host Templating UI--In Oct., Circonus released the first version of its new Templating API. Now, with Host Templating UI, templates are available in the web interface as well, the company stated in a press release.

“Proper monitoring and trending are as much a part of the business process as setting up networking, backups and change management," said Circonus CEO, Theo Schlossnagle. "Yet, as organizations shift systems like IT and security to the cloud, they increasingly are losing cross-system visibility to internal functions like accounting and marketing. Both physical and cloud-based platforms are critical to business functionality”

Via a rule editor or in alert details, users now can store a note and a link on metrics. The notes are useful to leave messages about how to deal with alerts on this metric, and the link can be used to direct users to an external resource for documentation on how to fix a problem. Users have the ability to set an optional note that others can see if they go to work on the alert and click to modify the acknowledgement or maintenance window, now when acknowledging or setting maintenance on an alert / metric.

Recently, the company launched the Circonus Unified Monitoring, a dual SaaS / private SaaS solution designed to provide enterprises with unmatched insight into their IT and business operations for improved business performance in the market. Specially designed for today's mission-critical computing and demanding environments, the solution breaks down the silos between IT and business systems to correlate data across systems and enable intelligent, data-driven business decisions.
