IT solutions provider Datatrend Technologies has announced a Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) appliance integrated with BroadSoft's (News - Alert) BroadWorks platform.
The newly released appliance allows service providers to deliver a comprehensive platform which addresses customers' IT, voice, data, collaboration, and network integration requirements.
By leveraging the BroadWorks Connector for IBM Sametime, the UCC appliance allows organizations to access BroadSoft's IP telephony and Unified Communications (UC) capabilities from within IBM's (News - Alert) UC and collaboration platform.
Businesses can configure the appliance for single or multi-host operations for geo-redundant capability. The UCC appliance features IBM Sametime's full messaging functionality, BroadWorks Connector integration, onsite implementation, and complete hardware and software support.
Optional add-ons are also available such as Polycom (News - Alert) phones, video conferencing infrastructure, structured cabling and other professional services.
Datatrend notes that the new UCC appliance combines the automation of everyday tasks with the ability to remotely configure and manage the system. This combination eliminates the need for onsite IT personnel for administration and maintenance.
"Customers want a simple solution for UC that is both reliable and secure, and this appliance provides the simplicity and affordability for them," said Darren Waldrep, vice president of alliances and marketing for Datatrend. "Datatrend has been designing and deploying integrated appliance solutions for many years. Our relationship with BroadSoft has enabled us to combine the best components and capabilities in a compelling and comprehensive solution with a clear benefit and a real return on investment (ROI) for service providers, with enterprise-level functionality for end-users."
"Datatrend has provided BroadSoft's service provider customers with a pre-configured, pre-tested server infrastructure for the BroadWorks platform for many years,” said David Bukovsky, vice president products, BroadSoft. “This new appliance allows our customers to extend the power of BroadWorks and provide VoIP enabled collaboration with the IBM Sametime client."
