Polycom (News - Alert), Inc., a major player in unified communications, has expanded its management team with the appointment of Navin Mehta to the position of senior vice president, Global Services.
In his new role, Mehta will be responsible for driving Polycom's global services strategy, including the customer support function and expanding its portfolio of service offerings to provide customers with complete UC solutions.
Mehta, with more than 28 years of industry experience in services and customer support, including operational expertise and leadership, will help Polycom build on its momentum in the fast-growing services market.
Working as senior vice president, Mehta will directly report to Sudhakar Ramakrishna, executive vice president and general manager of UC solutions and chief development officer.
"Our global services organization has had tremendous success and bringing Navin on board will ensure we continue to drive our rapid pace of innovation and growth as the demand for visual collaboration solutions and services increases worldwide," said Ramakrishna, in a press release.
"With Navin leading the team, customers and partners gain a trusted advisor with expertise in delivering best-in-class services and customer support and Polycom gains an industry veteran with a proven track record for leading and growing a services and support organization."
Prior to joining Polycom, Mehta worked as the vice president of Professional and Application Services at Motorola Networks.
He has also held executive services positions at Nokia Siemens Networks (News - Alert); Comverse Technology, Inc.; Nortel Networks Corporation; and Compaq Computer Corp/Digital Equipment Corp.
Mehta brings extensive domestic and global experience including international management assignments in the Asia-Pacific region. Academically, he holds a master's degree in business administration from Boston University, a bachelor's degree in law from Delhi University in India, and a bachelor's degree from Punjab University in India.
