Polycom Debuts New Solutions for Accelerating Unified Communications Adoption

Polycom (News - Alert), a provider of unified communications solutions, announced several new solutions built with significant capabilities that can coerce more users to adopt unified communications. The new solutions were launched at the InfoComm 2011 Conference and range from Polycom UC Intelligent Core software to cloud-based video content management (VCM) solutions to immersive telepresence and VoIP systems.

At the conference, Polycom also introduced new cloud-based Polycom Video Content Management Solutions and Polycom SoundStructure VoIP Interface.

The new software released for the Polycom UC Intelligent Core platform is tweaked with enhanced features to offer the most robust platform for scalable and reliable video services to offer carrier-grade UC supporting up to 75,000 devices and up to 25,000 concurrent calls.

Designed with intelligence built-in including automatic failover, redundancy, adaptive resource capacity, flexible network capacity, cost-effective scalability, virtualized call management, and tight integration with major UC partners, the Polycom UC Intelligent Core delivers new degrees of benefit to organizations. It offers up to 50 percent less bandwidth utilization than other systems and can natively integrate with major UC applications, including Microsoft (News - Alert), for wide-scale adoption and services delivery.

Newly released versions of Polycom Video Content Management (VCM) solutions, including Polycom's Accordent Media Management System (AMMS) v 4.5 and Accordent Capture Station v 5.1, are stated to make managing and delivering high-quality video content easier than ever. The new Polycom SoundStructure VoIP Interface brings the performance of SoundStructure product family, including best-in-class Polycom HD Voice performance and noise cancellation technology, to installed VoIP environments.
