In order to get secure communication system for unified communications application servers, Cistera (News - Alert) Networks, a provider of enterprise application platforms and engines for unified communications has offered enhanced virtualization for unified communications application servers.
Cistera is half-way through a refresh of hardware platforms that will expand their capability to enhance the number of supported devices and applications significantly.
According to a press release, with Cistera Convergence (News - Alert) 2.0, the number of supported devices per server will expand to over 10,000 devices through the use of enhanced virtualization capabilities inherent on the Cistera platform. It reduces the platform and carbon footprint of unified communication implementations by integrating multiple application engines on a single high performance, highly available platform. The platform’s broad portfolio of virtualized application services allows users to generate satisfaction, increase productivity and collaboration as well as provide a safer environment.
The Cistera platform has always been able to virtualize applications and with the new versions of hardware and software it will significantly increase this,” says Cistera CEO Greg Royal (News - Alert). “We were the first to virtualize recording and monitoring systems, voicemail, directory systems and notification systems back in 2005 and that approach has since become the norm. Now with the new capabilities, our customer with more than 10,000 employees can provide all that capability on a single server such as the Cistera 5500 series.”
The Cistera Convergence Server is the comprehensive delivery platforms for providing a robust and scalable solution. It adds features and functionality to a communications environment. Each Cistera Convergence Server is equipped with the full range of Cistera application engines, making installation and expansion a simple, straightforward process.
In other company news, TMCnet reported that Cistera Networks (News - Alert) has announced the delivery and implementation of a Unified Communications solution for schools in Birdville Independent School District or BISD.
