With an intention to help SMBs, HyperOffice, Inc., has introduced a hosted e-mail archiving feature to its award-winning HyperOffice (News - Alert) cloud messaging and collaboration software

This new feature will help users to store and index all the e-mail messages flowing through a company, and enabling their retrieval when necessary. This basically enables users to safeguard the e-mails that contain critical corporate data including contracts, invoices, business documents, and other important information.

According to the company, the e-mail archiving feature offers a fully hosted e-mail archiving alternative for companies that do not have the IT resources to deploy and maintain expensive on-premise e-mail archiving software like Exchange 2010. This service includes Outlook integration, and even Outlook e-mails can be archived and accessed online.

It also includes advanced e-mail search and discovery tools that help the administrator to instantly search all company e-mails by a variety of criteria such as user, date, subject, sender, receiver and more. Each e-mail record is inalterably stamped with time and owner to enable auditing.

Farzin Arsanjani (News - Alert), president, HyperOffice, said that the small and medium businesses tend to think that e-mail archiving is only for the big fish, large enterprises which need to comply with regulatory requirements.

"Yet these regulations also apply to SMBs. For instance, thousands of small finance companies fall under the purview of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. That said, regulatory compliance is by no means the sole benefit of e-mail archiving. It enables companies to proactively prepare for discovery requests in litigation or internal inquiries. The recent episode of Gmail users losing e-mails underlines the importance of safeguarding corporate data in the cloud era. E-mail archiving adds that extra layer of security," Farzin added.

He said that e-mail archiving was a logical addition to business e-mail features that include e-mail hosting, push e-mail and mobile sync, Outlook integration and more.

E-mail archiving complements HyperOffice’s business e-mail service, and can be implemented instantly, for a low monthly fees. It is a single solution that lets users serve all their e-mail-related storage, compliance and discovery needs.
