Comdasys, a provider of mobile unified communications applications and solutions for enterprises and service providers, has won the 2011 Global Frost & Sullivan Award for Market Leadership for its success in the advanced premises-based fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) solutions market.

The recognition is based on Frost & Sullivan’s (News - Alert) recent analysis of the enterprise premises-based FMC solutions market for independent vendors. Comdasys maintained its position in terms of total advanced premises-based FMC clients shipped among the FMC vendors. This category comprises FMC vendors including Agito Networks (News - Alert), Counterpath, DiVitas, Tango Networks, and Varaha Systems.

“Comdasys accounted for 38.2 percent of total clients shipped in this category and has seen client deployments increase during the past two years to well over 650 percent,” said Alaa Saayed, research analyst at Frost & Sullivan, in a statement.

“We firmly believe that Comdasys has achieved this leadership position due to a robust enterprise FMC/Mobile UC solution, strong partner relationships, multi-platform/multi-device support and the availability of multiple deployment options,” Saayed added.

The Mobile Convergence (MC) Controller and the MC Client are the two main elements of Comdasys' FMC/Mobile UC solution. The Comdasys MC client’s capabilities meet the demands of the mobility market today, company officials said.

Significantly, Comdasys achieved PBX interoperability list that includes Aastra, Alcatel-Lucent, Avaya, BroadSoft, Cisco, Mitel, NEC (News - Alert)-Unified, Seltatel, ShoreTel, Siemens, Teles and various open-source PBXs.

Comdasys sells its products through OEM partners -- both Tier 1 and Tier 2 communications manufacturers as well as an increasing number of service providers.

Comdasys is competitively positioned by supporting the latest mobile operating systems and smartphone models in the market. It supports all mobile platforms including Android, BlackBerry, Symbian (News - Alert), iPhone, iPad and various other tablets in both Wi-Fi and cellular networks.

In March 2010, Comdasys announced that TELES (News - Alert), the Berlin based Next Generation Networks and Access Gateway vendor, tied up with Comdasys to extend full softswitch functionality to mobile users of TELES C5 service provider and enterprise solution.
