Siemens Enterprise Communications Debuts OpenScape UC Server Xpress

February 01, 2011

Siemens Enterprise Communications, a provider of end-to-end enterprise communications, announced the availability of OpenScape UC Server Xpress, a streamlined voice, UC and contact center solution for mid-sized companies in a press release. The new solution can be easily scaled with respect to future growth of a company and can be acquired via Siemens Enterprise Communications’ reseller partners.

Issues such as escalating travel and conferencing costs, and limited collaboration for home workers and dispersed teams are not just limited to large-scale enterprises – they affect mid-sized businesses as well. To rectify these challenges, they would need communication tools that would bring together employees, apps and data into a single network. Though there are various solutions available for that purpose they are either not built for mid-sized companies, or difficult and expensive to deploy and maintain.

OpenScape UC Server Xpress is a truly integrated unified communications and collaboration (UCC) solution that was designed specifically for mid-market enterprises. It combines the voice solutions available from Siemens such as OpenScape Voice, OpenScape Unified Messaging, OpenScape Conferencing and OpenScape Contact Center into a smart, cost effective solution.

The company asserted that the pre-configuration feature reduces deployment risks and the time required to install and make it operational. This helps keep start-up costs down and gets the mid-sized enterprise working with the advanced applications they require. A rapid return on investment (ROI) is achieved through bringing conferencing in-house, providing free IP telephony calls between sites with SIP trunking, and offering software assurance that eliminates the cost of upgrades.

A client of Siemens Enterprise Communications acknowledged that its mid-sized customers have been looking for a solution like OpenScape UC Server Xpress – something that will enable them to take advantage of full-featured voice and UC applications while still getting the most value for their money, yet giving the ability to scale seamlessly without forklift upgrades as their business grows or needs change. The fact that it is pre-configured and can integrate easily into an existing data center environment makes it even easier to get customers up and running quickly and without excess costs.

"OpenScape UC Server Xpress provides midsize enterprises with an affordable solution for voice and UC and provides our channel partners with a robust, easy to deploy service offering," said Chris Hummel, President of North America and CMO of Siemens Enterprise Communications. "As part of our Open Communications approach, we are now delivering the highest value voice and UC features in a simple solution package so midsize enterprises can comfortably make the move to a communications solution that enhances their business process and keeps them competitive."
