Sagemcom Launches Latest Versions of XMediusFAX and OpenLine

December 27, 2010

Sagemcom, a provider of advanced IP fax server solutions, has launched its XMediusFAX Fax over IP (FoIP) software suite (version 6.5.5) and OpenLine PR Server 10.5.5, America’ss edition fax and document management solution, to be introduced in 2011.

The OpenLine PR server includes the embedded XMediusFax, and both versions will be a part of the Unified Communications (UC), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Enterprise Content Management (ECM) sectors. Users can now send in their faxes directly from Microsoft Office applications by utilizing the intuitive Internet Fax option.

The key features in XMediusFAX 6.5.5 and OpenLine PR Server 10.5.5 include Administrative Audit Logging, Optimized Assistive and E-Accessibility, Delayed Faxing, User Delegation, and Microsoft Internet Fax Service Integration. Administrative Audit Logging essentially records and maintains logs of all the actions performed by the administrators, which include visualizing a fax which will drastically decrease the need for troubleshooting as well as increase security and PCI compliancy. This is highly relevant in government and financial sectors where private information is exchanged and stored in the fax system. Optimized Assistive and E-Accessibility includes the optimized WebClient, MMC and WebAdmin interfaces, and can be used by individual users who are visual impaired or with reduced mobility, with the aid of more assistive technologies. It complies with Section 508 of the US Rehabilitation Act and the European e-inclusion policy.

Delayed Faxing enables the users to adjust the time their faxes are sent in order to benefit from off-peak toll charges or to minimize the impact on system resources associated with large transmissions involving hundreds or thousands of recipients. User Delegation assists the users by allowing them to easily switch between their own fax inbox and additional inboxes they have been granted access to. This capability benefits call centers and workgroups where there is a need to access multiple inboxes or share a central department inbox. Microsoft Internet Fax Service Integration further leverages the use of XMediusFAX or OpenLine PR Server enabling users to send faxes directly from MS Office applications using the intuitive Internet Fax option, without requiring an expensive monthly ISP subscription.

In a release, the general manager of Sagemcom Canada, Inc., Jean Champagne, said, “Our latest XMediusFAX and OpenLine PR Server features are a direct reflection of Sagemcom’s agility to address evolving market dynamics and customer requirements for best practices in IP communications. Next-generation enterprise IP fax is a booming market. Industries such as the healthcare, financial services, legal and government sectors still rely heavily on fax as the easiest and most secure way to exchange mission-critical documents. ”
