Zebra Technologies Corporation, a provider of technology solutions to identify, track, and manage the deployment of critical assets, unveiled the new version of its rugged RW 420 Route Palette that integrates Motorola’s (News - Alert) new MC9500 industrial grade mobile handheld device with lightweight and durable palette.

Ideal for route accounting, direct store delivery, and field service and sales operations, Zebra’s RW 420 Route Palette provides a single, convenient carrier for Zebra’s rugged RW 420 mobile printer and a Motorola mobile computer. Separate versions of the RW 420 Route Palette are available to support users’ Motorola MC9500 series, MC909X-S, MC75 or MC70 mobile computer.

According to the company, this new integrated solution makes mobile workers’ jobs easier and more productive: They can cradle it in the crook of their elbow like a painter’s palette while they enter data and print a receipt, rather than fumble with separate devices hanging from their belts.

“In addition to being the most rugged terminal/printer palette on the market, the new version of the RW 420 Route Palette is the only product compatible with the new MC9500 series of handheld terminals,” said Marty Johnson, product marketing manager for Zebra Technologies (News - Alert), in a press release. “Zebra’s superior compatibility and broadest range of integrated carrying devices for Motorola products optimize direct store delivery operations providing unparalleled efficiency to the mobile workforce.”

The company claimed that the new release is the most rugged device of its kind and comes with a Ingress Protection (IP) rating of IP 42 making it resistant to conditions such as moisture, dirt and dust. The rugged RW 420 palette integrated with the durable Motorola MC9500 is what workers need to enhance their productivity and deliver results in the field.

Some the benefits offered by the new version include: increased employee efficiency; reduced errors; enhanced customer satisfaction; time savings; and more.

The company stated that the Zebra RW 420 Route Palette is available in North America, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and EMEA and will be sold primarily through Zebra’s vast network of channel partners.
