Canamex Communications announced the introduction of PageRouter, a software-based messaging engine that is suitable for various industries.

PageRouter software delivers detailed factory alarms to staff anywhere within a plant. This saves a lot of time and does not disturb production times. Also it eliminates potential breakdowns and hence lost production time owing to the wireless communication feature.

The solution incorporates simplicity plus the efficiency to prevent production delays ensuring that a plant’s expensive production machinery and processes will now benefit from a reliable safety feature.

Commenting on the PageRouter’s applications, company officials highlighted that they are most suitable for high-noise environments where traditional alarms or two-way voice communication are not effective.

PageRouter is especially useful in sending automatic alarm details from existing factory equipment to wireless devices such as Canamex’s in-plant pagers. PageRouter is capable of notifying any number of individuals, within seconds reaching them wherever they are in the plant. Staff can access messaging from unlimited computers via a browser also.

Messages from Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), master controllers, sensors and wireless panic buttons are instantly relayed to alert staff about the occurrence of machine breakdowns, fire, spills, power failures or medical emergencies. In such cases where response time is critical PageRouter serves optimally by saving time.

Canamex sources explained that PageRouter can receive plain ASCII text from factory equipment; transmit programmable canned messages triggered when PLC relays open or close; receive emails from equipment and send them to staff. It also helps in delivering programmable messages when wireless panic buttons are pressed and can be easily integrated to any sort of plant operation.

Also it was revealed that connecting PageRouter is fast and easy saving on time and money. The customer is required to install a wall-mounted antenna, a small onsite paging transmitter and cables from the PLCs and/or the production control computer. Canamex pocket pagers feature heavy duty construction, a very strong vibrator and a four-line display, confirmed company sources.

Further optimizing the offering the company offers training and programming assistance through an online session. Complete installation and programming takes about 40 minutes which saves a company time, money and resources.
