Openstream Intros Cue-me Multimodal Browser

By Niladri Sekhar Nath, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Openstream Inc., a provider of Multimodal Technology and solutions, has introduced its multimodal browser Cue-Me for Windows Mobile, Symbian and BlackBerry phones. The company also has plans to make this technology available on iPhone (News - Alert) devices.

The Cue-me multimodal browser is an ideal solution for those looking for a suitable technology that can make mobile interaction more convenient and spontaneous.

Several studies have also showed that users no longer find the small keypad-mode of interaction suitable for accessing mobile applications as everyone wants to get information quickly, and without excessive key-presses.

Openstream claims that its Cue-me multimodal has done away with excessive key-presses to make mobile interaction smooth for users. Based on open standards, the browser makes multimodal mobile applications development simple for all popular phone platforms in the marketplace.

"Developers have been struggling for long not having a single platform and model that can help them develop applications for a variety of mobile phones," said Gerald McCobb, Technical Director at Openstream. Cue-Me could well be on its way to fill the void. Experts feel that the Openstream makes it possible for more developers to take advantage of speech and multimodality in their applications.

Openstream provides enterprises, service providers and SMB financial institutions worldwide a set of mobile applications that implement personalized services in a multi-modal environment, using wireless and speech technologies. Openstream's Smart Messaging Platform (SMP) mobilizes businesses and enhances productivity by mobile-enabling business-critical data for customers and employees.
