AT&T Announces TotalMobile Solutions to Government Employees

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

In this mobile decade, mobile must be the way forward for every Government department, Colin Reid, CEO of TotalMobile, says. Mobility, according to Reid, is going to underpin all the real business efficiencies and productivity gains they make.

TotalMobile, in association with AT&T, is enabling this solution for government employees using TotalMobile software applications and AT&T (News - Alert) wireless network.

The new offer provides mobile solutions designed to liberate government field employees from the office, according to company officials. With this offer from AT&T, federal, state, and local government agencies throughout the United States can improve productivity, collaboration and flexibility of government field employees.

TotalMobile from AT&T allows government employees to take the office into the field onto a single mobile device and complete their jobs more efficiently while reducing paperwork and administrative overhead, according to Michael Antieri, president, Advanced Enterprise Mobility Solutions, AT&T Business Solutions.

'This solution ties into AT&T's commitment to delivering innovative products and services to meet the unique needs of government agencies," Antieri added.

AT&T's solution integrates with existing government systems and databases, enabling field employees to complete their work and share information in real-time, allowing for faster decision-making.

Additionally, TotalMobile from AT&T includes pre-bundled applications for areas such as Health and Human Services, Inspections and Public Works, as well as individual applications that can be combined together for a customized solution.

AT&T is in the news for a number of good reasons nowadays. The recent announcements from the company prove that AT&T - Apple (News - Alert) combination is helping not these companies alone but their customers also.

Earlier in June, AT&T announced it will offer two mobile data plans for new iPad buyers, according to a TMCnet report. DataPlus will provide 200 MB of data for $15 per month (additional 200 MB chunks of data also cost $15), and DataPro, which provides 2 GBytes of data for $25 per month, with every additional GByte costing $10. Currently the plan is $30 for an unlimited amount of data per month.
Though AT&T's decision to drop the unlimited plan will be frowned upon by a few customers, on the bright side, most consumers will pay less based on past data usage and there will be a welcoming simplification of plans, says a blog from Rich Tehrani (News - Alert).
A few days after the announcement of Apple's iPhone 4, AT&T and Apple have sold out of their initial batches of the new device, according to news reports. While the official launch of the device is set on June24, Apple has listed the new shipping date for pre-orders as July 2 (or before).
