QderoPateo Debuts WorldLenns for the iPhone 3GS

By Nathesh, TMCnet Contributor

QderoPateo, a New York-based technology company, has unveiled the new WorldLenns for the iPhone (News - Alert) 3GS, a networking application loaded with advanced features that can blur the difference between social media and the virtual world.

The company has stated that the application enables users to take photos or post messages at specific events or geographic locations and virtually post them at that location for other people to discover. Other WorldLenns users in the geographic proximity of the area can then find and read the virtual message and photograph or leave their own one as well.

News website MobileMarketingWatch has recently termed WorldLenns as "Foursquare of Steroids". WorldLenns has been so called only because it provides a form of social networking that combines the digital aspect of new-age social applications with the physical world around the users creating a unique mash up that signals the future of mobile social networking.

Co-Founder of QderoPateo, Matt Gaines has commented that WorldLenns is the first iPhone application that connects the physical world with the digital world, creating a social enhanced reality that provides a new level of social networking and interaction among users.

The new feature 'SpaceTagging' of the app enables users to share virtual messages and photographs at specific geographic locations that includes restaurant reviews, their favorite exhibit at a museum, sporting event or concert highlights, or their mood at a particular point in time. QderoPateo has also planned to add a number of specialized channels for performing artists, entertainers, sports leagues and teams to WorldLenns in the future.

Co-founder of QderoPateo, Steve Chao added that they are the first music centric iPhone application to have the capability of tagging the real world. In addition the company has been working with singer Taylor Swift (News - Alert) to create a dedicated 'channel' for Swift. This channel enables Swift to communicate with her fans and increase interactivity at concert locations.

The launch of WorldLenns has given QderoPateo the ability to see message content floating in mid-air all around them through their camera lens. WorldLenns has developed the universe of social networking in a way like never before. WorldLenns has been more than an application and has developed itself into a new virtual world of sharing and discovery that users create themselves.

WorldLenns has stated that they have offered unique opportunities for consumer brands, sponsors, artists and entertainers, in addition to 'SpaceTagged' social networking features.
