IBM (News - Alert) has stated that their newly forged partnership with Iskratel will help Communications Service Providers (CSPs) to respond more quickly to the demands of their tech-savvy consumers who yearn for data-intensive applications and services including ringtones, music and video downloads, instant messaging, GPS, traffic alerts and stock trades.

CSPs have to respond with greater speed in order to handle millions of subscribers and an increasing number of requests for unstructured data generated from a variety of sources such as blogs, web content, social media websites and email.

Iskratel has stated that they have considerably increased its speed of transactions and has done two million busy hour call attempts using IBM solidDB. A 30 percent increase in its systems efficiency resulted in better network reliability with few dropped calls and faster downloads.

Recent estimates have suggested that data traffic on the mobile network will increase 39 times, with more than 5 billion wirelessly connected personal devices between 2014. But complicated mobile users will be frequently looking for the next convincing, content rich, and interactive application, creating an enormous market opportunity for this industry. Traditional telecommunication companies who don't adapt this opportunity may find themselves sidelined by players.

IBM's in-memory database software helps them to deliver more innovative products, solutions and applications in the telecommunications space that would enable them to succeed in new markets. 

Iskratel has built a faster and more flexible service delivery platform that helps to decrease the time to market the new data-intensive services such as voice calls, wireless voice, video, music and ringtone downloads, web browsing, and instant messaging.
