The Kindle was considered an innovation just months ago. But as Stephen Colbert recently made clear, the introduction of Apple's (News - Alert)iPad immediately made the Amazon device look very old school.
'Oh look, the screen has both black and gray. Myrtle get my cod pills,' the Comedy Central personality joked about the Kindle.
Taking steps to increase the Kindle's appeal, Amazon is adding various enhancements to the device. That includes new software, expected to be available to all users in late May, that allows Facebook (News - Alert)and Twitter users to share book passages, sort books and documents, and lock the Kindle with a password, according to a report.
In the meantime, reports this week indicate iPad sales have now hit the 1 million mark.
