RingCube Launches vDesk Version 3.0

By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributor

RingCube Technologies has released vDesk version 3.0, a high-performance enterprise desktop virtualization solution.  The vDesk 3.0 simplifies the creation, access and management of Windows desktops.

vDesk enables users to securely access their complete desktop computing experience from any Windows PC anywhere in the world. It enables organizations to increase user productivity, lower desktop management and support costs and eliminate the performance and resource overhead of legacy virtualization technologies. Moreover, vDesk integrates 3rd party encryption tools to protect against data loss and also provides native host security scanning capabilities.

According to Mike Prepelica, director of information technology at Revere Electric Supply Company, the company needed to remain productive in the event of unforeseen occurrences. Prepelica noted that vDesk is the only solution that delivers the performance, cost savings and simplicity of deployment that Revere Electric required for its remote workers. In addition, vDesk enables employees to work remotely and get their work done.

The vDesk 3.0 introduces new management functionality that delivers global scalability, faster MobileSync, support for Microsoft Windows 7 and hardware-assisted isolation control with Intel (News - Alert) vPro technology. The global scalability and enhanced manageability from vDesk 3.0 enables enterprise customers to create a hierarchical desktop virtualization management system that can be distributed globally with multi-site storage support. In addition, Microsoft (News - Alert) Windows 7 Support extends vDesk 3.0 virtual workspaces platform support to include Microsoft Windows 7 and the hardware assisted isolation control provides hardware-based isolation and increased workspace security when running on PCs with Intel vPro with virtualization technology.

vDesk MobileSync enables users to synchronize their vDesk workspace between any of the four vDesk deployment options, including PC, Drive, Network and VDI, and work offline. While offline, users become truly mobile by being able to access their virtual workspace anytime, anywhere. The vDesk 3.0 features faster MobileSync which makes routine synchronization and on-going backup of virtual workspace images on Vista and Windows 7 up to 90 percent faster.

vDesk 3.0 is available immediately through RingCube. It is priced at $200 per user for the Standard edition and $300 per user for the Enterprise edition. According to Mike Larkin, CTO of RingCube Technologies, vDesk 3.0 allows global enterprises to deliver virtual workspaces to even the largest sized organizations worldwide, delegate IT management and distribute storage efficiently. The new features of vDesk 3.0 also help end users with faster synchronization and backup of their virtual desktops.
