Canada-based telecommunications company TELUS has signed a reseller agreement with The MediaTile Company, Canada, a provider of 3G and 4G cellular digital signage and software-as-a-solution solutions, in order to resell MediaTile’s cellular digital signage platform under the brand name of TELUS (News - Alert) throughout Canada.
Under the terms of this “White-Label” agreement, TELUS will have access to MediaTile’s full line of ‘Digital Sign in a Box’ solutions as well as the web-based MediaCast System that provides centralized control, media delivery and playlist scheduling.
Additionally, TELUS will integrate its 3G+ wireless data services into MediaTile’s cellular digital signage platform; in order to eliminate the costs and complexities that are associated with legacy networked digital signage deployments.
In a press release, Eric Fergin, director, collaboration products and services for TELUS, said, “We chose MediaTile’s award-winning, cellular digital signage platform to resell as our own because it eliminates many of the technological costs and complexities associated with traditional digital signage networks.”
Fergin added, “The all-in-one displays integrates TELUS’ new 3G+ wireless network, making it easy for customers to deploy and operate a network of displays almost anywhere, taking advantage of Canada’s largest 3G+ network. Combined with the web-based MediaCast System which handles content delivery and management, no information technology (IT) equipment, services, additional software or technical training is required to operate a sophisticated communications network.”
Providing full support for video, Flash, RSS, and other dynamic content, the new TELUS Digital Signage solution is ideal for both public and private networks, such as point-of-wait, point-of-transit and point-of-sale networks.
According to TELUS, the new Digital Signage solutions are all-in-one displays available in 19”, 32”, 42” and 47” configurations. These displays require only a power outlet for operation, thereby making them a particularly good choice for retail, government, and corporate communications networks.
In addition, the MediaTile and TELUS solution facilitates in a smoother eventual transition to 4G LTE (News - Alert) technology. This is due to the fact that the display id is integrated with 3G+ wireless network. Apart from simplified deployment and maintenance, the cellular digital signage is completely independent from existing on-site business networks, thereby making it more secure. The solution does not need additional resources to keep Wi-Fi or LAN operational round-the-clock.
Dave White, president of MediaTile Canada, said, “By adding MediaTile into their ‘digital signage’ solutions product mix, TELUS can now meet their customers’ need for the new generation of dynamic, out-of-home communication networks.”
MediaTile’s MediaCast System, which is also licensed to TELUS, is a SaaS (News - Alert) (Software as a Service) based application accessible from standard web-browsers to remotely control and monitor a network of digital signs.
