eMOBUS' Mobility Services Implemented by McBride Electric and Baker Electric

By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributor

McBride Electric and Baker Electric have begun using electronic mobility management services from eMOBUS to reduce operational overhead and direct carrier billing costs. eMOBUS provides on-demand mobility management services that streamline business processes, reduce operating costs, improve internal controls and provide enhanced visibility and actionable account analysis.

McBride Electric specializes in planning, implementing and protecting the electrical and voice, data and video infrastructure that is important to commercial and industrial clients nationwide. The experts at McBride Electric are focused in the areas of technology and equipment rollouts, critical systems and energy conservation. eMOBUS' electronic mobility management program enabled McBride Electric to consolidate fifteen wireless accounts spread across thirteen locations. Moreover, within 60 days, the Verizon (News - Alert) billing costs dropped by 37 percent.

According to David Fischer, McBride Electric's IT Director, eMOBUS' Electronic Mobility Management program has helped McBride Electric to pay less to Verizon, gain better customer support as well as have one centralized system for all of cellular needs. In addition, clear visibility enables monitoring and recording of out-of-policy cellular usage. It is also quite easy to allocate cellular costs by site location, department and cost code in minutes with the simple accounting functionality.

Baker Electric is a full-service, fourth-generation, family-owned and operated company. It has completed multi-million-dollar contracts throughout southern California as both a prime contractor and as a subcontractor. According to Brian Miliate, Baker Electric's CFO, eMOBUS performed all of the heavy lifting and produced cost savings that would have otherwise taken Baker Electric too much time to create.

According to company officials, eMOBUS' electronic mobility management program also helped it to drop AT&T, Sprint (News - Alert) and Verizon costs by 32 percent. In fact, prior to implementing eMOBUS’ services, the company had three sales reps, three carrier systems and three different types of billing invoices. After the implementation of eMOBUS’ services, Baker Electric has just one system, one knowledgeable support center and consistent reporting.

Miliate added that the complete solution allows Baker Electric to spend minimal time on cellular so that it can focus on planning and strategy rather than bill reconciliation and account maintenance.

The Electronic Mobility Management platform is the complete solution for a business’ cellular needs. In addition to benefiting from monthly optimization, eMOBUS’ web-based technology platform makes ordering, servicing a business’ account and improving visibility quite easy. After establishing the optimal cost configurations for purchasing a corporate pooling plan environment, Electronic Mobility Management is deployed to keep these configurations in place. By centralizing every transaction, each move/add/change transaction is referenced against business intelligence rules before it is executed into the carriers system.
