Mobile Messenger Acquires m-Qube from VeriSign
By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributor
Mobile Messenger has reportedly acquired m-Qube, Inc. from its parent company, VeriSign, Inc. As per the terms of the agreement, Mobile Messenger will obtain m-Qube's direct connections to carriers in the US and Canada and its business delivering standard commercial messaging and premium mobile content to customers throughout North America.
Mobile Messenger will continue to provide comprehensive mobile solutions for the US premium and standard messaging industry. With the addition of m-Qube's technology and talented team capabilities, Mobile Messenger will hold the majority of market share. Mobile Messenger helps companies to develop, distribute and monetize digital content through mobile devices. The products and services lines from Mobile Messenger will now include full service premium solutions, premium aggregation and standard messaging.
The acquisition is seen by mobile industry experts as a logical and strategic decision by Mobile Messenger. As the market leader and largest provider within the US market, Mobile Messenger will continue to deliver an end-to-end technology platform that enables businesses to take advantage of the growing mobile content and messaging market as a marketing, communication and revenue channel.
In a release, Michael Iaccarino, president and CEO of Mobile Messenger, said the industry knows m-Qube as a traditional aggregator. Mobile Messenger is a strategic and trusted partner and will provide clients with a full suite of premium services while managing mobile campaigns end-to-end. The acquisition essentially combines these two forces, links Mobile Messenger’s capabilities directly to US and Canadian carriers and strengthens its commitment to provide full-service mobile solutions.
Mobile Messenger will remain headquartered in Los Angeles with the Boston office of m-Qube serving as the company's global technology headquarters. The newly appointed CTO, Purandar Das, will lead the integration and Mobile Messenger's technology operations from Boston. Das has more than 16 years of marketing technology experience and holds a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University. Das brings strong campaign management, CDI, business intelligence and integrated multi-channel digital marketing experience to his new role. Iaccarino noted that Purandar's digital marketing and technology expertise makes him the perfect choice to manage Mobile Messenger’s new technology hub.
Mobile Messenger has been operating in the US since 2004. A Mobile Solutions Provider, Mobile Messenger supplies its partners with cutting edge technology and services that facilitate the marketing, distribution and monetization of digital content to mobile devices.
