WildPackets and Ekahau to Improve Corporate WiFi Networks

A joint marketing agreement has been announced by WildPackets, Inc., and Ekahau (News - Alert), Inc. These enterprises will be able to address the complete lifecycle of wireless networking with the world-class wireless analysis bundle, which will be created as part of the agreement. 802.11n planning, site survey, spectrum analysis and deep packet inspection will be included as part of the combined wireless analysis capabilities. Network and application performance analysis solutions are provided by WildPackets (News - Alert). WiFi planning and site survey tools are provided by Ekahau.
Graphical, map-based WiFi planning and optimization tools will be provided by Ekahau in order to deliver this bundled solution. In-depth troubleshooting will be possible with the packet analysis technology from WildPackets.
In a press release, Tony Barbagallo, VP of marketing at WildPackets, said, "Wireless networking continues to evolve and become more complex. Enterprises deploying wireless need a single solution that addresses design, deployment, monitoring and troubleshooting of their wireless network. This joint offering will do exactly that."
The top tool for WiFi (News - Alert) network planning and verification is Ekahau Site Survey. Automated, three-dimensional planning for WiFi networks is possible with this tool. WiFi verification and troubleshooting is also covered with ESS. This includes site survey mapping of network performance and coverage.
An intuitive, easy-to-use graphical interface is offered by WildPackets' OmniPeek Network Analyzer software. The wireless enterprise networks can be rapidly monitored, analyzed with this interface. Troubleshooting is also possible. "Real world" wireless networks are monitored and analyzed by the OmniPeek software through multiple access points and multiple channels.
With its comprehensive wireless-specific expert diagnoses and 802.11 protocol decodes, in-depth analysis of wireless traffic is provided by OmniPeek. Every conversation on the network is analyzed with the help of high-level wireless-specific dashboard view, signal strength and channel analysis and visual experts.
