Syniverse Accelerates Roaming Time to Market in Latin America for Telefonica

Syniverse Technologies is serving as the exclusive provider of roaming business management services for 11 of Telefonica’s (News - Alert) properties across Latin America.


Syniverse roaming experts will use its GAIN Roaming Business Management Services to work directly with these operators, and this is expected to speed up the implementation of hundreds of roaming agreements. Ultimately this will decrease roaming time to market.

GAIN is fully customizable, and thus Syniverse (News - Alert) could assess the specific needs of Telefonica properties and tailor the solution to meet their exact requirements.

Commenting on their reason to choose Syniverse, Sergio Sanchez, director of business development for P&S-Voice and Roaming at Telefonica LatAm, said that Syniverse's status as a long-term, trusted service provider and assured them that it will help them to manage essential roaming management business processes for its Latin American properties.

Both companies have shared a successful business relationship for a decade now and Telefonica properties in South America know first-hand how experienced and knowledgeable Syniverse is when it comes to anything related to roaming.

"Our confidence in Syniverse's capabilities, its track record in this vital part of the mobile ecosystem, and the flexibility of GAIN means we have the best solution in place to get the most out of our roaming business in Latin America," said Sanchez.

Following this new agreement, 11 of Telefonica's operating businesses in Latin America will be able to realize expanded reach of global inbound and outbound roaming services and, ultimately, improve their customers' experience.

Tony Holcombe (News - Alert), president and CEO, Syniverse pointed out that delays in putting roaming agreements into operation may result in losses for the operator. Telefonica operators in Latin America will rely on Syniverse’s highly skilled roaming specialists, and this will speed time to market for roaming services.

Holcombe said that as an added benefit, Telefonica will be able to dedicate internal resources to other critical areas of their roaming businesses.
