FaceTime Communications announced recently that its line of Unified Security Gateway (USG) and IMAuditor products will now feature enhanced compliance and management capabilities to support the Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 Release 2 (R2).
FaceTime (News - Alert) is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner which helps businesses benefit with Unified Communications by delivering security, management and compliance across the broadest set of platforms and modalities.
Its Unified Security Gateway (News - Alert) is a comprehensive secure Web gateway combining content filtering, Web application control and real time communications security in addition to malware protection. IMAuditor is an enterprise-class solution for security, compliance management and control of instant messaging and other real-time communication applications.
These products are integrated with Office Communications Server 2007 R2 to provide protection from in-bound malware, out-bound information leakage and to insure corporate and regulatory compliance which are extensible to other communications modalities including Voice over IP and Web conferencing in addition to instant messaging.
Microsoft (News - Alert) Office Communications Server 2007 synchronizes all real-time communications including: instant messaging, VoIP, audio and video conferencing. It works with existing tele-communications systems.
"Unified communications presents new challenges in terms of security, policy management and compliance, because the nature of collaboration increases the ways that information can travel within and outside the organization," said Frank Cabri, vice president of marketing and product management for FaceTime Communications (News - Alert).
"Working closely with Microsoft, FaceTime provides a single platform for enforcing security and compliance policies consistently across instant messaging, conferencing and voice communications on the Microsoft Office Communications Server platform," added Cabri.
The newly added support includes the ability to create ethical boundaries for audio conferencing, full security and compliance for Group Chat, support for Access Edge Proxy and associated logging and reporting enhancements.
FaceTime believes that through its continued support of both Microsoft Office Live Communications Server and Office Communications Server 2007 R2, enterprise organizations can be assured of enhanced security and management and consistent policy enforcement across multiple unified communications modalities.
"The combination of Office Communications Server 2007 Release 2 and FaceTime's USG and IMAuditor provides a powerful new way for people to collaborate and offers customers a rich and integrated communications experience," said Eric Swift (News - Alert), senior director of the Microsoft Unified Communications Group at Microsoft Corp.
