PIKA to Demonstrate PIKA WARP Appliance at ClueCon
PIKA Technologies Inc., a developer of media-processing hardware and software, including Asterisk (News - Alert) compatible cards, has announced they will be participating in the ClueCon Telephony Developer Conference taking place at Chicago’s Hilton Garden Inn.
The conference is set to run from August 5 – 7, providing companies such as PIKA an opportunity to demonstrate their innovative solution offerings. PIKA will take advantage of the opportunity to demonstrate the functionality of PIKA WARP the Appliance for FreeSWITCH and provide attendees with the chance to enter a drawing to win the equipment used in the demonstration.
PIKA plans to begin shipments of its WARP product portfolio in June. Application developers will be provided with a less expensive, more reliable and much more compact alternative to typical off-the-shelf computer/voice products for voice-application deployment.
The flexibility of the solution has now been extended to include the FreeSWITCH open-source telephony platform as part of PIKA’s ongoing commitment to supporting open-source-telephony application developers. FreeSWITCH is designed to facilitate the creation of voice and chat-driven products that scale from a soft phone up to a soft switch.

"This first ever live demonstration of WARP working with FreeSWITCH is eagerly anticipated by our company and our user base," said Anthony Minessale, lead developer and author of FreeSWITCH, in a Tuesday statement.
"I'm confident that conference attendees will be impressed by PIKA's growing product portfolio and the addition of new tools and hardware that provide application developers with even more reasons to turn to FreeSWITCH."
FreeSWITCH offers the flexibility of a simple switching engine, a PBX (News - Alert), a media gateway or a media server to host integrated voice response (IVR) applications with simple scripts or XML to control the call flow.

The PIKA WARP Appliance product portfolio is designed to be ideal for small to medium sized IP-PBX systems, IVR self-service systems, predictive dialing systems, fax servers and many other features typical of a traditional purpose-built telephone system.
The Appliance is compatible with a variety of open source development platforms, including Asterisk and Linux. As such, it offers a cost-effective alternative to traditional off-the-shelf computers and plug-in card network connectivity in a smaller footprint.
To complete its ClueCon demonstration, PIKA will use a complete set up that will include two SNOM model 370 IP phones. Attendees present at the demonstration will be entered into a drawing to win the complete set up, including the two phones.
The company will also conduct formal session at 5:00 p.m. on August 5 as business development manager David Clarke (News - Alert) will present “Appliances vs. Cards” that will include key factors in choosing the right development approach. This presentation will be followed at 5:30 p.m. by a complete technical overview of PIKA WARP by PIKA's strategic technology director, Wojciech Tryc.
