HickoryTech's SingleLink Unified Communications (News - Alert) provides a complete modern business communications system via a hosted service model, making clear the need to buy onsite servers and applications.
It announced that it has been awarded a five-year contract to provide SingleLink Unified Communications throughout Mankato Area Public Schools, and will install, support, and completely manage VoIP system across 20 Mankato Area Public School sites including more than 1,250 phones.

By replacing businesses' collection of voice and data equipment, services and vendors with a single, centrally managed and hosted VoIP communications solution, the Single-Link Platform had proved its scalability, capability and functionality.

In a related news release, HickoryTech Corporation announced the expansion of its fiber-optic network to Sioux Falls, S.D. and Fargo, N.D. The network expansion to Sioux Falls and Fargo will add 350 fiber route miles to HickoryTech’s existing 2,400 fiber route miles.
