BroadSoft's PacketSmart Has Two New Customers with InTechnology and Alteva

By Madhubanti Rudra, TMCnet Contributor

BroadSoft (News - Alert), with its suit of IP-based communication software and services, is a familiar name in the telecommunication industry. BroadSoft software is used by the fixed-line, mobile and cable service providers to deliver voice and multimedia services over their IP-based networks. The company's flagship product, BroadWorks, has been trusted by service providers to provide enterprises and consumers with a range of cloud-based, or hosted, IP multimedia communications, such as hosted IP private branch exchanges, video calling, unified communications, collaboration and converged mobile and fixed-line services. The company is all set to repeat the success with another product, BroadSoft PacketSmart, which has recently won two major customers in InTechnology and Alteva (News - Alert).

The global demands for the end-to-end VoIP network monitoring solutions are on the rise. In response to this market trend, companies like InTechnology and Alteva have sought to ensure high quality of service and minimize the challenges encountered in the delivery of real-time communication services. Broadsoft’s PacketSmart came as the natural choice for these two companies.

BroadSoft PacketSmart is designed to enable service providers and enterprises, to deliver carrier-grade service quality all the way into the customer local area network, even when they do not control the end-to-end network. Both InTechnology and Alteva said that they have already started enjoying benefits from PacketSmart, which according to these users, has significantly helped their customers.

According to BroadSoft, InTechnology, an EU-wide communications service provider, is now leveraging the PacketSmart advantages to fully support its goal to provide the highest possible quality IP communications services to its customers.

The cloud-based unified communications provider Alteva, on the other hand, sought a solution that would be able to solve quality of service challenges across the entire, end-to-end network, and the company has got the solution in PacketSmart.

“As a provider of fully managed IP telephony, it's imperative that we deliver a service with consistently high voice quality. We were immediately impressed with the PacketSmart solution and the depth of reporting data available,” Ian Rhodes, Development and Platforms director at InTechnology, said.

“The service provided by Alteva has always been of the highest level. Several weeks ago we were experiencing a number of very odd issues. Alteva decided to deploy the PacketSmart tool and, within minutes, it identified that there was an issue with a switch on our local area network. We removed the problematic switch and everything is back to superior performance,” Jorge Arroyo, president of Benefit Consultants Group, said about PacketSmart.

“As businesses continue to embrace cloud-based UC solutions, such as VoIP integrated with Microsoft (News - Alert) Exchange/OCS and Salesforce.com, the need to deliver end-to-end service quality is paramount. Alteva is dedicated to delivering the most advanced features and functionality at the highest service quality level, which is why we use BroadSoft's PacketSmart. It provides a crucial level of insight into complex network issues that would otherwise not be possible,” Mark Marquez (News - Alert), chief technology officer at Alteva, added.
