Tadiran's Aeonix Gets a Makeover

Yesterday, Tadiran (News - Alert) Telecom introduced Version 2.3 of Aeonix, its software-based unified communications and collaboration platform. The company also recently certified Ingate’s SIParator as its enterprise session border controller, which Tadiran Telecom will resell as part of the solution related to Aeonix.

New with Aeonix Version 2.3 are support for HTML5 on its dispatch console, which means it can now run on any operating system and any device; security enhancements; new contact center functionality, so agents no longer require desktop applications but instead can simply use the phone; simplified installation; and support for PMS (or property management systems), to meet the needs of the hospitality vertical.

As for the new relationship with Ingate, it will enable Tadiran Telecom to provide customers with complete UC security for all their devices, explained Mike Long (News - Alert), marketing manager. Lindsay Kintner, Tadiran Telecom’s vice president of product management, added that the solution allows for failover for SIP trunk and SIP devices.

The Ingate and Tadiran Telecom solutions were a good match, added Kintner, because the Ingate E-SBCs can be deployed in a hardware appliance format, or in a virtual environment, while Aeonix can be deployed in a hybrid scenario for both on-premises and cloud implementations.

Tadiran Telecom and Ingate are also working together to implement WebRTC functionality in their solutions, Kintner and Long added. That will allow for things like real-time analytics and recording of calls. That’s because WebRTC technology supports both SD and HD voice, and the codecs it employs on the high end allow for better voice clarity, opening the door for higher quality recording and more effective analytics.

As discussed in a TMCnet posting last year, Tadiran Telecom is reinventing itself with Aeonix. The first product offered by Tadiran Telecom was a PBX (News - Alert) called Coral that it introduced in the mid 1980s. Tadiran Telecom introduced Aeonix, a Linux-based software-only application server than runs on VMware, in 2012, and hasbeen working to bring its Coral users over to the new solution. Aeonix is already in use by many customers, including major players in the education, power and transportation verticals, among others.
