By Carolyn J Dawson, TMCnet Contributor

Intelligent Mechatronic Systems (News - Alert) Inc. is a well known company when it comes to the development and delivery of sophisticated, end-to-end vehicle solutions. Recently, the company announced the instant availability of its hands-free email and infotainment solution, iLane at Amazon.com (News - Alert).

With the help of iLane, the consumers are able to stay fully connected at the time of driving. iLane claims to be the first in-car device which interacts directly with your smartphone. It permits you to handle your inbox and access remote content services hands-free using simple voice commands.

iLane is a smooth, portable unit that can be plugged into a vehicle's accessory port or any 12V outlet. It automatically alerts drivers about the new in-coming emails and reads them on command. Then, the users can reply to, forward, delete or call back the mails they have received. Apart from that, by using iLane, the users can access and manage other smartphone applications and remote services with the help of voice command. These include management of phone calls, SMS messages, calendars and a library of content such as news, weather and sports.

In a release Tony Cassetta who is the Chief Operating Officer at IMS said that "We are thrilled to be offering iLane through Amazon - one of the world's busiest consumer marketplaces. Complying with hands-free driving legislation has become top of mind for smartphone users on the road. iLane allows you to stay fully connected while keeping your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road."

iLane is considered as the only hands-free device on the market which enables its users to completely administer their smartphone device and access remote content using simple voice commands. Also, it is different from other dial-in solutions. It is a self-contained, portable hardware solution with the facility to automatically connect with a user's smartphone. In addition, the processes involved are completely hands free. It uses simple voice commands that eradicate the need to press buttons or dial-in to a server. As a non-server based product, information exchange through iLane remains protected. As a result, it can be considered as an ideal solution for those conducting business on the road.

IMS is specialized in the research, development and production of ground-breaking and improved solutions in the field of automotive safety, telematics and mobile media.
