FaceTime Communications and YellowJacket reportedly have entered into a partnership to deliver an integrated messaging compliance solution for energy trading communications.

 

Thanks to the pact, YellowJacket’s IM transaction and interaction logs can now be seamlessly stored in FaceTime (News - Alert) IMAuditor, which also archives messages from Reuters and Bloomberg, in addition to traffic from other instant messaging and Unified Communications (News - Alert) platforms.

 

YellowJacket, a subsidiary of IntercontinentalExchange, is one of the most utilized over-the-counter (OTC) trading communications platforms, with advanced functionality for complex derivative markets.

 

FaceTime’s IMAuditor is used by the world’s largest financial and trading firms to secure and manage real-time communications, ensuring that instant messaging and Unified Communications are used in a compliant fashion.

 

“We want to enable our teams to use the most advanced communications tools to maximize their efficiency and this includes providing YellowJacket functionality to our OTC traders,” said Richard Johnson, North American server team lead for MF Global, Inc.

 

Johnson said that FaceTime’s IMAuditor will now help the company to incorporate all of those records alongside the company’s other real-time communications archives.

 

“When it comes to audits and eDiscovery, having these records in a single location saves us an enormous amount of time and cost,” he said.

 

Brian Babin, director, product management, FaceTime Communications (News - Alert), said that this new partnership with YellowJacket demonstrates the value IMAuditor has for regulatory compliance.

 

“We designed IMAuditor specifically for real-time communication eDiscovery and compliance. Incorporating YellowJacket logs into the IMAuditor respository not only centralizes and simplifies messaging management, but provides a single source for eDiscovery,” said Babin.

 

FaceTime Communications enables the safe and productive use of Unified Communications and Web 2.0, including social networks, blogs and instant messaging.

 

In December FaceTime Communications announced support for the Squid proxy server in its secure Web gateway, Unified Security Gateway (News - Alert) (USG) v 3.1.

 

This helps organizations using Squid proxies to manage and control content posted from the corporate network to blogs, wikis, webmail and social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook (News - Alert) and YouTube.
